NIGERIA MINNING WEEK

NIGERIA MINNING WEEK
Last week I had the privilege of representing the Nigeria Governors' Forum at the Nigeria Mining Week in Abuja, organized by the Federal Ministry of Solid

Minerals Development.
This event was a game-changer, intentionally designed to tackle complex challenges such as regulatory frameworks, illegal mining, inadequate infrastructure, and climate-resilient mining practices.

As a climate activist, I was particularly intrigued by the discussions around ensuring safety for children and women in artisanal mining.

The Nigeria Mining Week provided a unique opportunity to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders to position Nigeria's mining sector as a cornerstone of our economy.

The exhibition tour was an eye-opener, showcasing cutting-edge technologies that offer sustainable solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria's mining sector. As an advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), I'm excited about the potential for Nigeria's mining sector to drive economic growth, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable development.
